Dates
do not display properly, or appear in an incorrect format |
| |
|
| |
Symptom |
| |
When
HerdMaster displays dates - on forms or reports - they appear
in an undesirable format (e.g. mm/dd/yyyy - US style) |
| |
|
| |
Fix/Resolution |
| |
Alter
your Windows Regional / International settings to display the
desired format. |
| |
|
1. |
Select
Start-Settings-Control Panel |
| |
|
2. |
Select
International Settings, or Regional Settings |
| |
|
3. |
Navigate
to the Customise Date tab (the method varies depending on your
Windows version) |
| |
|
4. |
Select
the desired date format e.g. Short Date: dd/mm/yy |
| |
|
| |
Background |
| |
Like
all Windows 2k compliant programs, HerdMaster stores dates as
integers (not dates) - though this is not visible to the user
- and then reports these integers to the Operating System (OS)
for 'translation'. The OS then displays the date dependant on
your selected International / Regional settings. You may change
your regional settings as often as you wish: it will not affect
the way HerdMaster records your data. |
