I'm computer-phobic, is HerdMaster going to be a headache to learn?
HerdMaster is designed to be used by alpaca breeders not computer experts-it's incredibly easy to use. Step-by-step 'wizards' guide you through all operations. A comprehensive Help facility is incorporated which provides context-sensitive information and tips at the touch of a button, and a full set of tutorials will have you operating HerdMaster proficiently within an hour.

If
I use the free trial program do I have to re-enter all my data
if I decide to subscribe?
No.
At the end of your trial period (3 months) HerdMaster will 'expire'.
Your data will still be intact: all you will need to do is contact
us to arrange your subscription, we will then send you a Login
Code to enable you to start the program again.
How
do I calculate which size band is appropriate for me?
The
size restriction applies to all the alpacas for whom you wish
to record data. If, for example, you wish to record data for
the sire and dam (parents) of one of your alpacas you will need
to include those two alpacas in your database even though they
may not be members of your herd. The same applies when using
non-herd males in your breeding operations.

I
already use a computer program to record data for my alpacas,
can you help me migrate to HerdMaster?
We
will happily try to help you migrate your data. For some programs
we have automated procedures for this, otherwise we may have

it doesn't currently do, are you interested?
Yes,
very much so. We are always looking for ways to improve HerdMaster:
around 40% of HerdMaster development comes directly from users'
feedback. Tell us what you want and we'll incorporate it so
everyone benefits.
HerdMaster
will run on Macs running PC emulation software (e.g. VirtualPC).
The emulation software itself uses some processing and memory
resources so you may find that HerdMaster runs slowly if the
system is of low/old specification.
Feedback
from users of fast Macs suggests HerdMaster runs well but please
note we can only provide support for HerdMaster not for the
Operating System or the PC emulator.
